FAQ
The discharge piping can be done with standard PVC pipes.
Yes, all SFA pumps require an electrical connection for operation.
We provide a basic 2-year warranty for our products, subject to proper installation and use of the product.

According to current building regulations, wastewater needs to be treated before discharge to main drain, except in certain small areas where direct discharge is allowed due to suitable infrastructure.
From the moment waste enters the SFA pump until it is discharged into the septic tank, the entire process is sealed (inside the pump, storage tank, and pipes). SFA pumps are equipped with air vent which is equipped with carbon filter preventing any odor to escape.
Standard electrical connections are available for both residential (220V) and commercial use (220V or 380V), depending on the specific model. Please consult our experts for further details.
The lifetime of SFA pumps depends mainly on proper installation and proper use. However, devices typically have a lifetime of 10 to 15 years with minimal maintenance, i.e., cleaning-descaling annually and, depending on the quality of the water in your region, the replacement of the pressure switch membrane.
SFA device is a floor standing pumping solution which can be installed anywhere and pumped to the connection point of the main drainage system, regardless of whether that point is far away or higher than the toilet installation location.
One of the great advantages of SFA macerators and pumps is being able to discharge at a very small diameter (22-32 mm for most products, with some large pumps like the Sanicubic or the SANIFOS line using DN50 and DN100), thereby avoiding major remodelling.
The recommended discharge diameter may vary by device. Please check the installation manual to find the most suitable discharge pipe diameters for your project.
The terms "black water" and "grey water" are used to categorize water based on its origin, composition, and potential for reuse or treatment. Here’s a brief overview of these two categories.
Black water:
Black water, is wastewater that comes from toilets and contains human waste, including faeces and urine. This water is heavily contaminated with pathogens, bacteria, and organic matter, making it hazardous and requiring intensive treatment before disposal or reuse.
Grey water:
Grey water is wastewater that comes from non-toilet sources such as sinks, showers, washing machines, and dishwashers. It contains lower levels of contaminants like soap, dirt, and food particles. Since it lacks toilet waste, grey water can often be treated and reused for non-potable applications, such as irrigation and toilet flushing.
SFA pumps do not require any special maintenance; however, to ensure many years of good service, we recommend that you clean and descale your pumps regularly.
Sanitoilet can handle wastewater from toilets, sinks, showers, bathtubs, and other plumbing fixtures. They are versatile enough to accommodate various household needs.
Sanitoilet is specifically designed to grind only toilet waste, such as waste and toilet paper; therefore, we do not recommend putting other foreign objects into the toilet. This helps minimize the risk of clogging and extends the machine's lifespan.
The flush discharge generally triggers 1 cycles lasting 1 to 2 seconds each and typically shorter than the toilet’s flushing cycle.
For the device to operate properly, gravity drainage is necessary from the shower trap to the Sanitoilet’s side inlet. The shower trap must be at least 18 cm above the bottom of the macerator pump.
Yes, SFA offers heavy-duty Sanitoilet for commercial applications such as Sanibest Pro or Sanigrind Pro, which is capable of handling high traffic and large wastewater volumes.
Yes, SFA Sanitoilet can be installed in compact bathrooms with limited space, as they are designed to fit into tight areas like behind toilets or inside cabinets.
Check whether the device is properly connected and whether the power supply is working properly. If the problem persists, feel free to contact our service team from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm.
Check that the sanitary appliances connected to the macerator are not leaking (toilet flush, faucet, etc.). The non-return valve in the macerator's discharge elbow may be leaking; if so, clean or replace the non-return valve. If the problem persists, feel free to contact our service team from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm.
If used normally, the blade will mostly only cut feces and tissues, not other materials or foreign objects (unless it is due to improper use).
- Add a toilet without floor drilling or complex plumbing.
- Perfect for hard-to-reach areas or rentals with floor restrictions.
- Install an additional toilet in a location far from the main sewer line.
- Odor-free, stable alternative to traditional pits, which often produce unpleasant smells.
Our Sanitoilet is no louder than a regular toilet flush and runs for a shorter time, so any noise overlaps minimally. Proper installation is key to reducing sound vibrations—ensuring no direct contact with walls, using anti-vibration pads under the tank, and spacing the piping.
For extra soundproofing, you can add a layer of insulation between the macerator and the floor or wall.
1. Disconnect the Sanitoilet power supply
2. Pour an amount of cleanser into the pan
3. Leave it to stand for 1 or 2 hours,
4. Re-connect the Sanitoilet power supply,
5. Rinse by operating the flushing system twice.
Carry out the operation once every 3 months on average, but the frequency may need to be changed depending on the hardness of the water.
Sanigrey is a grey water pump designed to transfer wastewater from various sources, such as a kitchen sink, dishwasher, and washing machine.
It can be installed in a variety of locations, including kitchens, utility rooms, basements, and laundry rooms. Its compact design allows it to fit into tight spaces.
Yes, SFA Sanigrey can handle hot water. Certain models can handle hot water up to 90ºC (5 min max) from appliances such as dishwashers or washing machines.
No, SFA Sanigrey are specifically designed for handling grey water only. For toilets or bathroom including toilets, you can consider our Sanitoilet.
Sanigrey are not intended for handling solid waste. They are designed to handle water with minimal suspended solids, such as soap residue and food particles (up to a certain particle size). Essentially, if particles can pass through a sink filter, they should also pass through the pump.
Absolutely! Our lifting stations are designed for both residential and commercial applications, ensuring reliable wastewater disposal.
Yes, our lifting stations are designed to be installed below ground level as well as above, providing flexibility in their placement.
The vertical head varies depending on the model. SFA lifting station can lift wastewater up to 39 m.
SFA lifting stations can handle both grey water and black/sewage water from toilets, sinks, showers, washing machines, and dishwashers.
Most of the SFA lifting station comes equipped with IP68-certified motors and audible and visual alarms for added safety. Additionally, they come with a built-in control panel for easy operation and monitoring. Two pump lifting stations are also available to ensure continuous operation. Please check detailed notice of each products according to your need.
The key benefits include no core cutting or pit digging, gravity-free drainage, no smell issues, and easy servicing and maintenance.
What material should be used for the discharge piping?
