19 November – World Toilet Day: SFA Group Continues to Support Communities Worldwide
With a steadfast commitment to ensuring clean and accessible sanitation for all, SFA Group has, for many years, supported World Toilet Day (19 November) through numerous humanitarian projects across the globe.
Following projects in France (2011, 2018, 2019), Cambodia (2016), and Senegal (2017), SFA Group has been the main sponsor of the Sulabh School Sanitation Club in India since 2023.
The program aims to improve the quality of life and school environments for students.
To date, nearly 900 students from ten schools across the states of Haryana and Sikkim have benefited from the initiative:
- Haryana: 4 schools (2023) – 250 students
- Sikkim: 3 schools (2024) – 296 students
- Planned for 2025: 3 new schools – 314 students
New Sanitary Facilities – New Joy for Students
Each year, SFA Group’s support enables schools to:
- Fully renovate existing toilet blocks
- Build clean, convenient handwashing areas
- Provide dedicated spaces for girls, supporting menstrual hygiene needs
These improvements help reduce disease transmission, create a healthier learning environment, and especially encourage girls to attend school more consistently.
Tangible Impact on Daily Life
Alongside infrastructure upgrades, the program also delivers:
- Personal hygiene kits
- Interactive training sessions
- Practical workshops on health and hygiene
These activities help students and teachers build healthy hygiene habits and improve awareness of community health.
Focus for 2025: Empowering Girls With Confidence
In 2025, the program places strong emphasis on menstrual dignity, including:
- Building a dedicated handwashing area
- Constructing two sanitary spaces tailored to girls’ needs
- Organizing training sessions that help girls approach menstrual health with confidence, knowledge, and self-care

- Tikalal Niroula Govt. Senior Secondary School, Central Pendam
